Are you interested in pursuing an MBBS degree in China? There are 45 authorized Chinese medical schools that provide an English-language MBBS! Apart from all of these 45 universities, students will have to learn Chinese for their MBBS degree and obtain a Chinese degree, not an English degree.
According to the Chinese Ministry of Education, only 45 universities in China are qualified to provide MBBS degrees in English and are authorized to admit overseas students (MoE). The Ministry of Education has also stated that conducting MBBS courses in both English and Chinese is “strictly prohibited.” The statement from the Ministry of Education comes before the 2019 admission season when thousands of students across China are scheduled to apply to medical schools.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Education, “Schools not mentioned (within the list of 45 universities) shall not enlist undergraduates studying for a degree in clinical medicine (teaching in English) to arrive in China, but only undergraduates majoring in clinical medicine able to teach in Chinese,” according to a statement released by the Ministry of Education.
“The teaching standards (having studied outside of the list of 45 universities) must not be lower for undergraduate clinical medical students in China,” it continued. According to the MoE statement, the use of “bilingual teaching” to recruit international students for MBBS is completely prohibited.

In China, the number of medical students has been rapidly increasing in recent years. Authorities like to make sure that international students are attending universities that are officially recognized. The Indian Embassy also stated that it has received inquiries from prospective students, recognizing that “only these 45 Chinese universities are authorized to admit international students for an MBBS degree in English,” and that “new students are recommended to note carefully that even these 45 Chinese universities are authorized to concede international students for an MBBS degree in English.”
