

Rizhao City is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province, located on the coast of the Yellow Sea in southeastern Shandong, with a total area of 5,374.90 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, Rizhao City had a resident population of 2.9683 million. Rizhao City is named after the place where the first rays of sunrise shine. It is a coastal ecological, livable, tourist-oriented, modern port city and port-related industrial base in China. In 2022, its GDP reached 230.677 billion yuan, an increase of 3.8% over the previous year.

Today, Wanpingkou Beach Scenic Area in Rizhao City, Shandong Province, has become a local tourism “calling card.” With its beautiful beaches and excellent water quality, the scenic area attracts numerous tourists and serves as a venue for the World Sailing Championships. It is a seaside tourist resort integrating sightseeing, leisure, entertainment, and sports. Wanpingkou Beach Scenic Area receives 3 million domestic and international tourists annually, with peak daily visitor numbers exceeding 150,000.
